Bicentennial Prayer

God of Hope, you placed a dream in the heart of St. Gaspar that continues to unfold in the hearts of his Missionaires and Companions. This dream was inspired by your covenant of love, sealed in the Precious Blood of your Son for the life of the world. Make us witnesses after your own heart for the renewal of the Church and the transformation of the world. Bless our hearts and our homes as sacred spaces of hospitality that reverence the dignity of all life. Send us forth to be ambassadors for Christ in the ministry of reconciliation drawing all people near in your Blood.

Prayer of Reconciliation Before a Meeting

Prayer of Reconciliation Before a Meeting
By:  Sr. Mary Whited, C.PP.S.
Loving God, we gather here today, people united in the Precious Blood. As we speak our truth and listen to each other, open our hearts and enlighten our minds. Let our conversation reflect your presence, your wisdom, and your abiding love. Enable us to be instruments of the reconciliation and healing that is so needed in our world today. We pray, as always, in Jesus' name.  Amen.

Prayer to Jesus Crucified

Here I am good and gentle Jesus, kneeling before You. With great fervor I pray and ask You to instill in me genuine convictions of faith, hope, and love, with true sorrow for my sins and a firm resolve to amend them. While I contemplate Your five wounds, with great love and compassion, I remember the words which the prophet David long ago put on Your lips: “They have pierced my hands and my feet, I can count all my bones.”

For the intentions of the Holy Father:

Our Father . ..

Hail Mary …

Glory be …

Prayer to Saint Gaspar Apostle of the Precious Blood

Most loving Saint Gaspar, by that tender affection with which you cherished the mystery of our redemption, and by that ardent zeal with which you gave yourself to the conversion of sinners, and the salvation of souls, obtain for us from the Lord, we beseech you, a spirit of true penance; so that wholly cleansed in the Blood of Jesus Christ, we may be saved; and may receive those graces which through your intercession we humbly implore. Amen.

Prayer to St. Francis Xavier

Saint Francis Xavier, many are the needs of the Church in our day. The workers in the vineyard of the Lord are few; the enemies of the Church, many. We implore you to obtain from God priestly and missionary vocations who will courageously extend God's kingdom and apply the merits of the Blood of his Son. Intercede at the throne of God that Christians everywhere may spread the true faith through genuine witness of Christian life and love. May the message of God's love penetrate to the far corners of the earth.

Prayer to St. Gaspar for the Church

Saint Gaspar, you loved the persecuted Church, and in the name of God you accepted disgrace and exile. We beg your intercession for the Church today; help us discern how we are to live and promote the message of the Gospel. United with you, may our hearts have compassion for the poor and abandoned. Increase our love for the Blood of Christ, so that we also may be prepared to risk our lives.

Memorare to Our Lady of the Precious Blood

Remember, O most gracious Queen of Martyrs, Our Lady of the Precious Blood, that never was it known that any of your children, redeemed by the Blood of your Son, sought your intercession and was left unaided. Trusting in the power of the Precious Blood, O Handmaid of the Redeemer, I fly to you my Queen and my Mother, and in the bitterness of my sorrow, I place myself at our feet. O Mother of Jesus Crucified, unite my prayers with yours, obtain for me the merciful bounty of the Divine Blood. As I kneel beneath the Cross, O Mother of sorrows, hear and answer me. Amen.

Prayer for the Beatification of the Venerable Merlini

Eternal Father, we beg of you the favor of the beatification and canonization of your servant, John Merlini. We ask that you place upon his life and work in honor of the Precious Blood the stamp of divine approval, that those who venerate him and seek his intercession may glorify you by imitation of his virtues. Grant us an abundance of the graces flowing from the Blood of your Son; bestow upon us the spirit of his love, so that we may truly promote the divine glory in the apostolate of the Precious Blood with the zeal of Saint Gaspar and Venerable John Merlini.

Prayer for the Society of the Precious Blood

Let us pray for our Society, for the superiors and the members, and for an increase of vocations:

O Lord, through the intercession of Saint Gaspar and Saint Francis Xavier, bless our Society and those who govern it in your name, as well as all its members. Grant us many more zealous members who will serve the Society in humility and obedience, and in all things carry out your holy will.

Let us pray for our missions:

Prayer for Vocations

Loving God, by our baptism into your family you call us by name to follow you. Open our hearts and minds to your designs. Give us the strength we need to live a life in union with you and with others. Help us to live lives of loving service.

By the shedding of His Precious Blood, Christ has shown love for the world and each person. With your love, help each person to respond courageously and generously to your call. Continue to send dedicated persons to spread the Gospel. May prophets and missionaries rise up among us.

Eternal Father

Eternal Father, we offer you the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins, in supplication for the holy souls in purgatory, and for the needs of holy Church.

Communion in the Blood of Christ

We praise and thank you, Lord Jesus, for giving your redeemed people you own body, broken for us, as food, and your own blood, poured out for us, as drink.

Through your saving blood, free us from sin and reconcile us in love. Break down every wall of division that separates us from one another and from you. May we be reunited in your body the Church, born from your pierced heart on the cross.

Chaplet of the Precious Blood

This devotion consists of seven mysteries in which we meditate on the seven principal sheddings of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. The Our Father, without the Hail Mary, is said five times after each mystery, except the last, when it is said three times, in all, thirty-three times in honor of the thirty-three years of Our Lord’s life on earth.

While saying the Our Father” we should reflect on the mystery and make the practical application to ourselves, mentioned in each mystery.
