As part of our celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood we are inviting members, Companions, Amicia nd frineds of the congregation to do service projects in the trdion of St. Gaspar del Bufalo. We hope to reach and surpass our goal of 1,000 hours during this jubileee year.
Consider the life of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, our founder:
- St. Gaspar was active at Santa Galla in Rome, visiting and minstering to the sick.
- St. Gaspar was active among the poor who came to Rome to sell their produce and wares.
- St. Gaspar was active among those who had been in trouble with the law and needed to put their lvies back together.
- St. Gaspar spend four years in exile and prison for refusing to take the oath of allegience to Napoleon.
These ministries may inspire you to visit the sick in nursing homes, hospitals, their own homes or even the infirmary at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, Ohio.
These ministries may inspire you to support the Precious blood Ministry of Reconciliation in Chicago, Illinois or other ministries that reach out to those who have been in trouble with the law and help them change their lives for the better.
These ministries may inspire you to support or engage in some form of prison ministry, maybe even something as simple as providing homemade cookies to those who are in prison now.
You might spend some time volunteering at a soup kitche or an organziation life Habitate for Humanity, or tutoring children having trouble in school.
You might organize a team to walk in a Relay for Life, Cancer Walk or other walk-a-thons in your community.
You can contact Cindy at the Provincial Offices for further details or to report your hours of service. email@example.com
We will be counting the hours and describing the various activities in the C.PP.S. Newsletter in the coming months.
