Precious Blood Spirituality and Its Symbols

Fr. Robert Schreiter, CPPS

This presentation will explore four basic symbols of Precious Blood spirituality. They are: covenant, cross, cup and the Lamb. All of these are rooted in the Scriptures, and evoke a wide range of meanings and memories. Each symbol will be presented as to its basic meanings as presented in the Scriptures, and then some of the meanings it haas for us today, both in our personal and communal lives in community, and also these connect with the work we do for the sake of the Church and the Reign of God.

Prayer of Reconciliation Before a Meeting

Prayer of Reconciliation Before a Meeting
By:  Sr. Mary Whited, C.PP.S.
Loving God, we gather here today, people united in the Precious Blood. As we speak our truth and listen to each other, open our hearts and enlighten our minds. Let our conversation reflect your presence, your wisdom, and your abiding love. Enable us to be instruments of the reconciliation and healing that is so needed in our world today. We pray, as always, in Jesus' name.  Amen.

Blood…life fluid, irreplaceable,
if blood stops, life ends,
if blood flows, life continues,
if blood is transfused, life is healed...

Dear Jesus, Before you went to Heaven, you promised that you would send us the Holy Spirit. Today we give special THANKS for the GIFT of the Holy Spirit to the Church, to us. Help us to listen always to the Spirit in our lives. We pray this as we make the sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer: Loving God, we praise and thank you For the newness we see all around us in nature: Trees and grass are green again; The sun has kissed plants and now flowers are blossoming. May your Risen Son, Jesus Christ, Hug our hearts and help us bloom with newness, too. AMEN.
